EDO Competition has unveiled a new kit for the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. The EDO Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG kit offers both new looks and improved performance for the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. The EDO Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is powered by the same 6.3 liter V8 engine that now outputs 555 hp and 680 Nm (501 ft-lb) of torque. The extra umpf under the bonnet of the EDO Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG comes from a new exhaust system, exhaust headers, high-flow catalytic converters, new air filters and a re-programmed ECU. The top speed of the EDO Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is 199 mph and the car is able to rocket from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.

Mercedes has unveiled their latest AMG Sports package for the 2009 Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the CL-Class. With revamped AMG bodystyling, attractive 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels and special interior details, both top Mercedes-Benz models can now be made more striking than ever in terms of sportiness. The AMG Sports package is now available for five Mercedes model types.

New AMG Sports package, including a front apron with large air intakes, enhances the visual impact of the S-Class and the CL-Class. The rear apron with a striking black insert and integrated, rectangular tailpipe trim in polished stainless steel is also eye-catching. AMG side sill panels round off the AMG bodystyling. 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels with a five-spoke design and wide-base 255/40 (front) and 275/40 (rear) tyres fill the wheel arches perfectly and provide optimum contact with the road. 20-inch AMG light-alloy wheels are available as an option in a twin-spoke design with 255/35 and 275/35 tyres. Mounted on the front axle there are perforated brake discs and silver-painted brake callipers featuring Mercedes-Benz lettering; the V6 models have a more generously proportioned braking system.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class AMG Sports Package comes with a wood trim and the wood/leather steering wheel in black ash give the high-quality vehicle interior a dynamic feel. The AMG Sports package also includes velour floor mats with AMG lettering and sports pedals in brushed stainless steel with rubber studs.

The AMG Sports package is available for all S-Class models with a short or long wheelbase, as well as for the CL 500 and CL 500 4MATIC. It costs between 5831 and 7973 euros (including 19% VAT); the market launch commences in June 2009. In addition to the S-Class and CL-Class, the E-Class Saloon, the E-Class Coupé and the C-Class can be equipped with the AMG Sports package.

Mercedes-Benz C Class Luxury models get increased equipment for 2007, with front power seats and an adjustable steering column with memory feature, plus 16-inch alloy wheels, now standard. Also, Sport models get a new, distinct six-spoke, 17-inch wheel design, and an AMG-design rear decklid spoiler and dual sport exhaust pipes. Inside, the Sports get black Birdseye maple trim instead of aluminum.

The base C230 Sport model can now be run on any blend of ethanol and gasoline up to E85 (85 percent ethanol).

The C Class will be completely redesigned for the 2008 model year.

The 2007 Mercedes-Benz C Class is available in three different engines-designated by C230, C280, and C350-and in two different sub-models, Sport and Luxury. The C230 is only available in Sport guise, while the other two models are available either way.

The C230 is powered by a 201-horsepower, 2.5L V6 engine, while the C280 comes with a 228-horsepower, 3.0L V6 and the C350 gets a 268-horsepower, 3.5L version of the same V6 family. Each of the V6 engines have aluminum construction and four valves per cylinder, with variable valve timing for good response throughout the rev range. The C230 Sport and C350 Sport come with a six-speed manual transmission; a seven-speed automatic is optional on those and standard on Luxury models.4Matic full-time all-wheel drive is optional on C280 and C350 Luxury models, and includes a five-speed automatic transmission instead. The system sends 60 percent of torque to the rear wheels during normal driving and routes more to individual wheels as needed.

Whether Sport or Luxury, each of the primary C Class models come extremely well equipped, especially when it comes to interior appointments. Luxury models get hand-finished laurel wood trim, while Sport models now have black Birdseye maple.

Sport models also feature staggered-width 17-inch six-spoke alloy wheels and Z-rated performance tires for improved control in enthusiastic driving. Sport models also get a stiffer suspension calibration.

All C Class models get front-seat side air bags, side curtain air bags front and rear, and active front head restraints, plus ESP stability control, along with anti-lock brakes and brake assist.

Major options, mostly offered in larger packages, include a bi-xenon headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a Harman/Kardon Logic7 surround sound system, and rear side air bags.
