Super Z6 was designed by SCC for cars, trucks, and SUV's with restricted clearance around the drive tires. Based on SCC's experience with other products in the "Z" family, Super Z6 has one very special quality: it will operate in less than half of the space required by most cable chains and tire chains. Super Z6 requires only 6mm (1/4") of sidewall clearance to operate. The diagonal pattern provides constant traction, aggressive starting, stopping, cornering and ensures compatibility on vehicles equipped with traction control and electronically monitored brake systems. Traction coils, made from alloy steel are more durable than conventional tire or cable chains. A split outside cable with two fastening positions allows for easy installation without moving the vehicle, and there's no need to stop and retighten. Most cars, trucks and SUV's manufactured since the late 80's will have special clearance requirements. Don't be fooled by the appearance of the tire positioning on your vehicle. Traction products not only have to fit the tire, but must also fit within the space provided around the tires. Most issues are hidden from view as they are behind the tire near braces, suspension parts, strut housings, splash guards and fuel and brake lines. More information should be located in the owner's manual under chains, traction devices, tires or similar heading. It is important to select a traction product that is compatible with the minimum class assigned to your vehicle. The class assigned to your vehicle is based on the original tire and wheel size shown in your owner's manual. Using a different size tire may affect the chain's ability to operate properly. Some owner's manuals state that certain tire sizes do not provide enough clearnace to accommmodate winter traction products. The fact is, many of these vehicles can use SCC's Super Z6. Trying to measure the nearest obstruction under your vehicle could prove tricky.

If at any time during use you hear any contact of the chain to any vehicle part remove chains immediately. DO NOT EXCEED 30MPH / 50KMH CAUTION: To maintain greater control of your vehicle during cornering and braking, we recommend that you use winter traction products on all four tires, unless your owner's manual strictly prohibits it. This is especially important on front-wheel drive vehicles. WARNING: Check your vehicle's owner's manual for traction product clearance limitations. This traction product requires the use of chain tighteners for proper performance, operating clearance and durability. However, tighteners may scratch or otherwise damage wheels and wheel covers that protrude outward beyond the sidewall of the tire. Manufacturer will not warranty wheel covers or alloy wheels damaged by chain or tighteners.

According to Carscoop sources, Ford has followed in the footsteps of Renault and Citroen with their respective Scenic / Grande Scenic and C4 Picasso models by developing two different body styles for the C-MAX, one for the five seater version and another one for the larger and more practical, seven seater model.

While we're patiently waiting for Ford to green light the release of the first official images, we've added a full set of spy shots of the seven-seater model. Unlike the base C-MAX with five seats and conventional rear-doors, the seven-seater version features a pair of sliding rear doors that promise to improve access to the rear seats.

It is believed that Ford will premiere its newly developed 1.6-liter Ecoboost turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine on the new C-MAX that will also be available with numerous other normally aspirated petrol and turbo diesel units.

The new Ecooboost engine will eventually make its way on other Ford models in Europe such as the Mondeo and the next-generation Focus range.

Sales of the new C-MAX models are expected to start in Europe in mid-2010.

As for North America, even though Ford has confirmed that the U.S. will get the all-new, next-gen Focus model in 2010, there's no word if the range will also include the C-MAX.

The V6-powered Camaro uses a 3.6L engine with variable valve timing to optimize performance and fuel economy. It is SAE-certified at 304 horsepower (227 kW) and 273 lb.-ft. of torque (370 Nm). A six-speed manual transmission is standard with the 3.6L engine; a Hydra-Matic 6L50 electronically controlled six-speed automatic, with TAPshift control, is available.

The high-performance Camaro SS is equipped with a powerful 6.2L V-8, with a choice of a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Manual transmission-equipped models receive the LS3 engine, SAE-certified at 426 horsepower (318 kW) and 420 lb.-ft. of torque (569 Nm). It is paired with a TR6060 six-speed transmission.

A new, L99 V-8 engine is used on automatic transmission-equipped SS models. It is based on the LS3, but also includes GM's fuel-saving Active Fuel Management feature. It is SAE-certified at 400 horsepower (298 kW) and 410 lb.-ft. of torque (556 Nm). It is matched with a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed transmission that helps delivers an EPA-estimated 25 mpg on the highway.

The LS was fitted with a fully independent suspension and could be had with either a 3-liter V-6 or 3.9-liter V-8. A manual transmission, part of a sport package, was available with the V-6. It was the first time in nearly 50 years that Lincoln buyers were offered a clutch pedal. Like the overall package, the interior combined Lincoln-level amenities with a driver-oriented layout and bolstered front buckets to keep driver and passenger firmly in place during spirited driving. The standard LS was joined in 2002 by the LSE (Limited Special Edition), which is best described as a body package similar to those found on Mercedes’ AMG and BMW’s M-Series, but without those exemplars’ performance enhancements.

The LS remained unchanged in all but a few minor details during its first three model years. In 2003 it was treated to some useful enhancements. Although the car’s appearance remained much the same, both engines were upgraded to incorporate continuously variable intake cam timing and other leading-edge components. The LS racked up nearly 263,000 sales during its seven-year run, but only 9,000 of them were sold during the final year. Ju-Yung Chung established an auto repair shop, Hyundai Auto Service, in Seoul, South Korea in 1946. The corporate symbol, a stylized “H” meant to represent the company and its customers shaking hands, is still used today. Though the name “Hyundai” translates to “modern” in English, its first vehicles were anything but.

Founded in 1967, Hyundai Motor Company signed an agreement with Ford to assemble its Cortina and Granada models through 1976 for the Korean market, and used the opportunity to learn all it could about producing automobiles from an established automaker. The South Korean government, however, wanted to spur economic growth by underwriting the production of Korean-designed vehicles, and Hyundai--along with Daewoo, Kia and Ssangyong--took up the challenge.

Italy’s ItalDesign was tapped to style the Hyundai Pony, and Hyundai contracted former British Leyland managers to oversee the car’s development. Powered by a Mitsubishi inline four-cylinder engine, the Pony proved to be an export success in Europe but never made it to the U.S. That would have to wait until the Excel was launched in 1985. This small front-drive hatchback and sedan cost just $4,995 and sold 126,000 units in its first year--its low price largely atoned for its less than stellar initial quality. Back home, Hyundai continued to work closely with Mitsubishi, leaning on the Japanese company for powertrain and development expertise.

By 1990, the fast-moving automaker had erected a plant in Bromont, Quebec, Canada, and introduced its first all-Hyundai design, the Sonata. It would be easy--shooting fish in a barrel easy--to disparage the Pontiac Aztek’s design. Like its Buick Rendezvous sister, the Aztek was built on GM’s minivan platform, and available with either front- or all-wheel-drive. It came in two flavors, base and GT, was powered by a 3.4-liter V6 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, had an optional 10-speaker stereo, and a two-piece tailgate with built-in cup holders and a molded seating area for tailgate parties. Unfortunately the Aztek was blighted by thick bands of Pontiac’s trademark contrasting body side cladding, and a rear roofline that had critics claiming that the “GT” badge stood for “Garbage Truck”.

In its defense, the Aztek was designed as the X Games and extreme sports arrived on the scene. As such, its unconventional styling was seen as the perfect look for a generation that personified the active lifestyle, and took with them as many things and friends as they could carry. Wayne Cherry, at the time the director of GM Design, personally oversaw the Aztek’s styling, and often admonished its critics with the statement: “If you don’t get it, you’re too old.” To drive home this point, Pontiac made certain the crossover was available with items like a tent that slipped over the rear hatch when opened, an air mattress for the large cargo bed, a roll-out cargo tray that could hold up to 400 lbs, and special racks for snowboards, mountain bikes and similar items.

Given its versatile interior, available all-wheel-drive, and youth-oriented specification sheet, GM confidently predicted it would sell 75,000 Aztek’s per year, a number that had both Chrysler and Ford working feverishly on their own minivan-based crossovers. Unfortunately, the Aztek was priced too high for its intended audience, the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 severely curtailed new car purchases, and critics branded the vehicle as a design failure before GM could respond. As a result, sales never exceeded 27,600 per year. However, GM reportedly needed to sell 30,000 Azteks per year just to break even on the model.

In 1914, Masujiro Hashimoto started the Kwaishinsha Company with backing from three men whose last names-–Den, Aoyama, and Takeuchi--would give the DAT car its name. By 1926 Kwaishinsha had merged with Jitsuyo Jidosha, and later joined forces with Tobata Casting. It transferred manufacturing operations for Datsun automobiles to Jidosha-Seizo Kabushiki-Kaisha, which almost immediately changed its name to Nissan Motor Company. Ltd. Company President Yoshisuke Aikawa wanted to mass-produce and export Datsuns, an activity that began soon after cars began rolling off the Yokohama assembly line in 1935. Eager to expand, Aikawa bought vehicle designs from Graham-Paige, but the clouds of war soon shifted Nissan’s attention from cars to military vehicles and equipment.

In order to get up-to-date engine and vehicle technology in the post-World War II market, Nissan partnered with Britain’s Austin Motors and began producing Austin cars in 1953. By 1960, it had become the first Japanese automaker to win the Deming Prize for engineering excellence and began introducing cars like the Cedric, Bluebird, and Sunny with its own technology under the Datsun name. The Jaguar S-Type is available in three different models for 2008. The S-Type 3.0 has a 3.0L V6 engine making 235 horsepower; the S-Type 4.2 has a 300-horsepower 4.2L V8; and the high-performance S-Type R gets a supercharged version of the 4.2L making 400 horsepower. All three models have a six-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

All three models have strong acceleration. The 3.0 can dash from zero to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds, while the 4.2 takes 6.2 seconds and the R can make it in an especially frisky 5.3 seconds. They're electronically limited to a 121-mph top speed.

The S-Type's standard suspension uses aluminum extensively and is designed for sporty handling, stability, and a smooth ride. The S-Type R comes with the eCATS suspension system, which provides stiff body control to handle the extra power yet doesn't sacrifice ride quality. The system can change the damper settings from soft to firm in milliseconds to provide crisp handling when it's needed; otherwise they follow a softer setting for comfort.

The S-Type R also gets higher-capacity performance brakes, plus big 19-inch Z-rated tires. Visually, the R has stainless steel exhaust tips, a rear spoiler, and Satin Mahogany interior trim, along with performance sport seats and leather trim for the steering wheel and shift knob.

Jaguar is a luxury-car manufacturer that marries comfort, style, and speed in both sedan and sports car form. It was founded in the United Kingdom by William Lyons in 1922; the company originally produced aluminum motorcycle sidecars. The first true Jaguar, the SS1, was launched in 1931, and the Jaguar name was given to the car in 1935. The XK120 was released in 1948 and offered high horsepower and high speed. It was the precursor to Jaguar’s involvement in racing. During the 1950s, the company enjoyed five victories at Le Mans, in part due a competitive advantage--the company was one of the first to use disc brakes on the race track.

Jaguar introduced the Mark VII sedan in the United States in the 1950s, and its success prompted the similarly elegant Mark VIII and Mark IX. The subsequent XJ6 and XJ12 sedans have become known for their traditional English approach to luxury. In 1961, Jaguar brought to the U.S. the smooth, high-performance E-Type sports car, which was replaced in the 1970s with the less sporting but similarly powerful XJ-S luxury coupe. Two Le Mans victories, in 1988 and 1990, reinforced Jaguar’s performance reputation.

In 1990, Ford bought Jaguar and folded it into Ford’s Premier Automotive Group. Ford’s resources helped Jaguar expand its production and product line. The result was the debut of the XK8 and XKR sports coupes and convertibles in 1997. Chevrolet has been working on improving the rest of its lineup as well. It has the same immensely powerful engine under its hood: The 2.0 TFSI has an output of 195 kW (265 hp); its maximum torque of 350 Nm (258.15 lb-ft) is constantly available from 2,500 to 5,000 rpm. The turbocharged direct injection engine catapults the Audi S3 Sportback into the exclusive class of compact, fast sports cars.

In comparison with the A3, the two-liter engine in the S3 has been intensively further developed. The turbo, with its upsized turbine and compressor turbine wheel, builds up a relative charge pressure of up to 1.2 bar. A reengineered charge air cooler significantly lowers the temperature of the compressed air and thereby increases the air mass required for combustion.

Pistons with reinforced pins operate within this, the most powerful TFSI engine; reinforced, newly mounted connecting rods transmit the forces onto the crankshaft. The cylinder block has been stiffened, with its head being cast from a new, high-temperature alloy. The exhaust camshaft timing has been adapted to the increased output, whilst the high-pressure injectors have been provided with increased cross-sections. With all of its concentrated technology, the highperformance, turbocharged engine weighs just 152 kg (335.10 lb), less than comparable engines from direct competitors.

The Crown Victoria has remained largely unchanged since 1992. For 2007, Ford dropped the LX Sport trim in favor of the Handling and Performance Package. Remote keyless entry and a CD player are now standard on all Crown Victorias. The venerable 4.6L V8 engine is now flex-fuel capable.

A long-time Ford stalwart whose fans include Police departments and taxi companies across the country, the 2007 Crown Victoria provides a durable platform for roomy and comfortable cruising. For the current incarnation, Ford has kept the important aspects of the vehicle the same: large trunk, plenty of legroom, and Ford's workhorse 224-horsepower 4.6L V8 engine.

The base Crown Victoria has a split front bench seat, with the driver side being power adjustable. Wood grain adorns the instrument panel, which includes an analog gauge cluster with uncommon oil pressure and voltage indicators. Anti-lock brakes are standard equipment as is a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, power windows and locks, cruise control, remote keyless entry and, for 2007, a CD player.

Optional equipment includes traction control, a $175 option, as well as adjustable pedals for $120.

The LX, which starts at $295 more than the standard trim includes nine-spoke alloy wheels and paint stripes. Interior add-ons include an overhead console with compass and air conditioning.

The LX is more configurable than the standard Crown Victoria with an available leather bench seat. The Handling and Performance Package includes rear air suspension as well as revised springs and shocks. The engine is tuned for 15 additional horsepower.
